A personal Ethnography

This series of photos was taken in my basement using only the Pinwide lens (see previous post). I call it a personal ethnography, in the style of colonial "anthropologists," who took photos of artifacts and people using early photographic technology. All of the objects are things in my house. Objects and origins (not in order) include: Corpse lily - Sub-Saharan Africa; Mead - Gdynia, Poland; Wooden architectural element - Solon, Iowa; Mammoth ivory - Yukon River, Alaska; Humanoid carving - Papau New Guinea; Reindeer antler carving - Kangerlussuaq, Greenland; Llama figurine - Pisac; Peru, Bottle & brushes - China; 'Dolores' - Indianapolis, Indiana (by Bebito); Plush Owl - Indianapolis (by Ania Spryra)
