Amazingly, an office near one of the ovens has a drawer full of photographs from when the plant was still in operation. It's remarkable that such a complex piece of industrial machinery, dealing with so much energy and heat could be maintained by mere men. The scenes in the photos show a restrained hell raging against brick walls and iron gates, with only ocassional glimpses from a safe distance.
